Life At Spooner's Cove
From the moment you visit Spooners Cove, by boat or land, you will be swept away by the unique natural allure this property has to offer. This beauty, has been embraced by the design team to not only preserve the landscape and water’s edge, but also to make it available to the residents of the community to use and enjoy as their own. This starts with the inclusion of five open spaces, with approximately 600 feet of waterfront property to be preserved for the homeowner’s association use. In addition, one of the best featured amenities is the nature trail system that will connect the North and South sections of the neighborhood to “Spooner’s Cove Estate Park” with over 700 feet of elevated board walks to enjoy the gorgeous natural view corridors. Whether you are looking for a grand waterfront homesite, or a less sizeable homesite to preserve the historical look and feel of the Morehead City heritage, there will be choices to fit your lifestyle. Many homesites will include your own private boat slip.
The Spooner’s Creek area is a unique geographic bay that creates a shelter for the mariners that call this area “home”. Over time, the banks of Spooner’s Creek have grown into several diverse neighborhoods and opportunities for a variety of residential and commercial uses. It now boasts seven distinct neighborhoods, including two planned developments (PD’s), two active marinas, a full service fuel dock, two boat ramps, and a multi-family condominium complex mixed with Single Family home sites.

Spooner’s Cove will be the first of all of the Spooner’s Creek communities to design and install storm water runoff systems to protect our natural waterways. They will also limit the amount of bulkheads that are often seen along most of the banks of Spooner’s Creek. Additionally, the designers positioned the majority of the homesites away from the water’s edge. This was done by creating estate-style lots and also by reserving large areas for the Home Owner’s Association use for parks and recreation space. The boat dock design utilizes elevated board walks for access to the boat slips instead of installing seawalls and back filling wetlands. Spooner’s Cove will work collectively with all local, state, and federal agencies to develop this community responsibly to preserve the environment, ensuring safety to its local and surroundings.
